Minimalism x Natural Hair: How Exactly Does This Work?

Although my mantra is "Less is greater than More", it is also important to note that the most many minimal creations play with proportions and texture to keep things interesting. When I put together an outfit that is monochromatic with a very sleek or simple silhouette that just doesn't turn me on, I rely on my hair to do that job.  Without doing too much, I can easily upgrade an almost boring look by letting my hair be free and be big. It's almost as if having natural hair is an accessory.

When my look is very simple, very refined, very clean, my natural hair allows me to express my individuality without disrupting the minimalist aesthetic. This is especially important when I am in formal or professional environments. You may be thinking, "well how does that apply to the whole #lessismore thing?" Generally, you would see minimalist bloggers with very sleek hair (I can pull that off too). but the truth is that natural hair IS relatively minimal.  It does not require many products, hours of styling, extensions, etc. A wash-n-go or a wash-n-blow are both very easy natural hairstyles that can compliment any minimalist look.

Minimalist fashion is great because it's sustainable, sophisticated, modern and timeless. However,  it's important that each "Minimalist" remains an "Individual"; remain true to themselves. If you like minimalism but you also like big hair, there is a way to do it! If you like bold colors, there is a way to do it! Hashtag #NOCLONES.
